pregnancy-symptomsThe most common sign of pregnancy is a missed period. However, there may be many reasons why your cycle is late. Ask yourself if you are under stress or if you have been exercising harder than usual. Sometimes your period can be late for no reason at all. If you have missed a period, ask yourself if you’re experiencing any of these other common pregnancy symptoms.

Other Common Pregnancy Symptoms

  • Tender or swollen breasts
  • Feeling unusually tired
  • Feeling light-headed or dizzy.
  • Unusual food cravings
  • Unusual aversion to certain foods
  • Nausea in the morning or all day long

Confirming Pregnancy

The best way to confirm a pregnancy is through a pregnancy test followed by an ultrasound, if the pregnancy test is positive.

A pregnancy test can be wrong even if it’s positive and many pregnancies aren’t viable (meaning they will end in natural miscarriage). An ultrasound can confirm that the pregnancy exists and that it is likely to be carried to term.

If your period is late, and you are experiencing any of the above pregnancy symptoms (or even if you’re not) call us at 815-408-0793 to schedule a free, confidential pregnancy test. Even if it is negative, we are happy to relieve your mind.

If you have a positive pregnancy test reading in our office you will also be eligible for a free ultrasound to further confirm the pregnancy.
